The Super Harvest Blood Moon Eclipse

The Super Harvest Blood Moon Eclipse was the big craze last night, and it truly was a sight to see. The last time this triple convergence occurred was in 1982, and won’t happen again until 2033 – 18 years from now. The triple convergence of the moon was a super moon (when the moon is at its closest point to Earth), a harvest moon, and a total lunar eclipse all in one. Having a blood moon during a total lunar eclipse is also rare because it only happens when there is a full moon, and when the Earth and Sun align in a precise way, so that the Earth’s shadow completely covers the moon.

The photos I captured were from my hometown in Massachusetts. I captured a couple while the eclipse was starting, and one once the moon was covered by the Earth’s shadow.
