I’m going back to Vegas! – wait what?

I was just in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago for the Rock N Roll Half Marathon, and I already almost have plans to go back to Vegas in 11 days!  Wait, what?  Why would I be going back to Vegas this short notice and after JUST being there?

Well, my dad owns a company that manufactures airplane engine parts, and he happens to be going to a conference that’s based at the Las Vegas Convention Center from the 8th-10th of December.  He plans on leaving to go out there on the 7th and come back on the 10th.  Originally, my mom was supposed to go with him, since she works for his company also, but her and a couple of my Uncles that also work for the company got stuck having to fly out to Ohio for a meeting in the middle of those few days in Vegas.  So because of that, my dad was going to be going solo and wasn’t really looking forward to going as much anymore.

When I found out about the last minute meeting my mom has to go to, I told my dad that I could look into how much time off I currently have to see if I could manage going out there for a couple of days to keep him company, but wasn’t really sure.  So yesterday he went running with our neighbor, who also happens to be one of my best friends, and mentioned Vegas to her and basically said that if she wanted to go she could come and he was going to talk to me later on about going as well.  The two of us are pumped now because it’s seeming like it could pan out nicely, as long as she can get coverage for the couple of days she would need off.

My dad will still be flying out on the 7th, but Julie and I would not leave until the 8th, and would come back on the same plane as him on the 10th.  So it will just be a quick trip, but it will definitely be a lot of fun!

On this trip, we are hoping to go to see the Beatles Cirque du Soliel and go hiking at Red Rock Canyon and possibly some other parks nearby.  I also want to try and make it to the botanical cactus garden outside of the Ethel M. Chocolates chocolate shop boutique this trip, since it was on my list of 5 things I wanted to do in Vegas, but it was one of the 2 I was not able to get to (the other item I wasn’t able to get to was the Lion Exhibit in MGM but I wasn’t able to do that because they no longer have it there).

So we will see what this trip has in store for us!  We aren’t positive on what hotel we will be staying at yet, but are hoping to figure all of that out at some point later today!

    1. I was just looking up Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire! I knew that there was another park that was awesome to see other than just Red Rock Canyon that people don’t normally know as much about! I’m super excited to see what this trip has in store for me, and to see some of your photos of the Valley of Fire to see how amazing it looks before I go!

    1. yeah it was a definite bummer! aparently they technically still have the lions in vegas but i guess you can only see them if you go to where theyve always kept them which is at lion habitat ranch and its 10 minutes away from the strip from what i read! i guess you can even feed them there and stuff which is pretty cool! Definitely something I plan to check out someday there.

    1. I saw and heard of a couple of those places on your list! I haven’t heard of some of them though, like the Neon Museum or the Acrylic Tank Manufacturing place either, if I have time to I am going to try and check them out!
