17 Items on a Travelers Holiday Wish List

‘Tis the season to be jolly, merry, and kind.  And along with this season is exchanging gifts to one another.  Christmas time is the best time to give a traveling friend gifts that may help them along on their travels.  Below is a list I’ve compiled of 17 items I plan to get before I leave on my Round the World Trip, and figured what better time than Christmas time/my birthday to ask for some of these items.

17 Items on a Travelers Holiday Wish List

  1. Fujifilm X-T10 Silver Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit with XF 18-55mm F2.8-4.0 R LM OIS Lens – Although it is not a DSLR camera, this camera is light weight, small, and capable which makes it an ideal camera for traveling.

  2. Lewis N Clark Electrolight Backpack – This ultralight backpack is an ideal companion for any traveler.  It unfolds from a compact pouch into a full backpack, making it a convenient backpack for any day trip you may take, and wont take up much space!

  3. Solar Charger 5000mAh Innoo Tech Solar Power Bank Dual USB Port Portable Charger – A portable charger is essential for any traveler with multiple electronic devices.  I used to have a rechargeable powered portable charging stick, but it randomly fell apart after only using it a few times.  This portable charger is solar powered, and is also is waterproof, dust-proof and shock-resistant.  It also has an LED flashlight built-in, which could come in handy for emergency lighting.

  4. Passport Case, Travel Wallet, caseen® ARIA Fashion Leather Clutch Purse Wristlet – This wristlet comes with a pocket big enough to fit most USA and International passports, and also has 5 credit card slots, a see through ID pocket, 2 cash pockets and a coin pocket.

  5. Microsoft Surface 3 Tablet Although the Surface Pro 4 is out now, I put the Surface Pro 3 on my list because it is quite a bit cheaper and should have mostly all the same functions as a Surface Pro 4.  Originally I planned to purchase a new Mac before leaving, but then decided a Surface Pro would be smaller, lighter, and easier to carry around than a laptop will be while traveling.  It runs as a computer would, but in a tablet form, which will make working/blogging easier to do abroad!

  6. SteriPEN Ultra USB Rechargeable Portable, Handheld UV Water Purifier – When traveling to foreign countries it is important to take some sort of water filtration system with you.  Even though you can purchase bottled water abroad, it doesn’t mean it is always safe.  The SteriPEN’s UV light destroys germs’ ability to reproduce and make you sick; destroying over 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa.  This is the rechargeable version, but there is also a battery powered version as well.

  7. Salona Professional 1″ Titanium Flat Iron Hair Straightener, Worldwide Dual Voltage 110-240V – I don’t know about you, but my hair has no specific type.  It is literally just a mess.  I don’t straighten my hair every day, but there are part of my hair that I do fix up with a straightener almost daily.  This straightener was designed specifically for young wanderlusters, as it comes with three travel adapters that prepare you for just about any power outlet.  It also has 110/220 Dual Voltage for use worldwide.

  8. olloclip 4-IN-1 for iPhone 6/6s and 6/6s Plus Lens Rose Gold Lens/White Clip, OC-0000167-EU – For those days that you just don’t feel like carrying a camera around with you, the olloclip 4-IN-1 is an ideal phone add-on.  It clips on and off your iPhone in seconds and includes lenses for Fisheye, Wide-Angle, 10x Macro, and 15x Macro.

  9. Master Lock 4688D TSA Accepted Cable Luggage Lock – It is always a good idea to take a lock with you while traveling, just in case you happen to room with some shady people that might go through your things.

  10. Subrosa Womens’s Infinity Scarf with 1 Regular Pocket and 1 RFID blocking pocket – This infinity scarf has 2 hidden pockets within it where you can store some of your smaller valuable belongings or money.

  11. ProZek 3 Piece Packing Cubes Plus Shoe / Laundry Bag Travel Organizer Value Set – I’m the type of person that is organized when initially packing, but once I get to my destination I through everything out of my bag and everything become disheveled.  I’m hoping that packing cubes can help solve this problem!

  12. GoPro HERO4 SILVER – This durable and waterproof camera/video camera is perfect for the traveling adventurer.  There are several different types of GoPro’s, but the Hero4 is the only one with a built in touch display that allows you to frame your shots.

  13. Selens SE-Tmini 18.2in Portable Camera Tripod with Ballhead and Protect Bag – To go with that fancy new camera (or old if you already have one), the Selens SE-Tmini is fairly compact, only 7 inches when folded up.  If you are trying to pack a minimal amount, like I am, this tripod could come in really handy since is it 25% shorter than other tripods when folded up.

  14. LOOP® BEST Worldwide Travel Adapter with Dual USB Charging Ports | International [US/UK/EU/AU] All-In-One Fused Safety AC Wall Charger Plug – Rather than carrying around multiple travel adapters and plugs, this all-in-one wall charger plug works internationally and also has USB charging ports.

  15. Scarleton Vintage Satchel H1068 – I’m hoping this bag will work as a decent carry-on to store my camera, Surface Pro, Go Pro, and any other essential items when flying.

  16. 8 Pack Space Saving Travel Smart Compressed Storage Roll-up Bags No Vacuum Seal In order to be more organized, and to hopefully fit more items, I thought getting some compression storage roll-ups might be handy to try out.

  17. Aeronaut 45 – The Aeronaut 45 is a duffel bag that is a maximum size carry on bag, that can be worn as a backpack, shoulder bag, or duffel. It’s dimensions are 22″ x 14″ x 9″ and has several compartments, making it easier for organized packing, versus how a normal duffel bag would be.  It is also water repellent, so if you get caught with your bag out in the rain you won’t need to worry as much about all of your things getting soaked.
