Photo Diary: Red Rock Canyon

During my 48 hours in Las Vegas trip a couple weeks ago, my dad, Julie and I were able to squeeze a hike in at Red Rock Canyon Thursday morning before our flight that afternoon.  Red Rock Canyon is about a 30 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip, so the three of us got up early that morning and packed up our hotel room, grabbed breakfast, and were at the Park by 8:30 am.  We stopped in at the Visitors Center to ask what a good trail loop would be.  The guy at the service desk suggested we do the White Rock Trail, which is a 6 mile loop.  There is a scenic road you have to drive on to get through Red Rock Canyon.  Along the scenic road, there are many parking areas for different trail heads.  On our way to the Willow Spring Picnic Area, where we planned to start our hike, we stopped at the Calico parking area and also at the High Point Overlook so we could take some pictures.  The views for Red Rock Canyon are quite amazing, just see for yourself below!

  1. I visited Las Vegas a few weeks ago and had no clue about red rock canyon until my cab driver mentioned it to me on the last day of my trip. Would have loved to visit. Looks like you had a great time. Awesome pics.
